Nicol's layoff continues / Fully fit Formartine Print E-mail
Keith hope to finally return to home action for the first time in three months when they welcome Formartine United to Kynoch Park for the very first time in the Highland League.

The Maroons were boosted by Gary Harris's last minute winner at Forres Mechanics last weekend to give boss Darren Still his first win as manager and the former club captain is looking to add another feather to his cap by gaining his maiden home victory at the first time of asking. He said:

"We are just pleased to back to the Kynoch having not played at home since November 14th. As far as Formartine go, I was actually on holiday when we played them earlier in the season so I haven't seen them play personally. However, I think you only have to look at their attacking options to realise that we are going to have to be on our toes defensively.

"With the attacking options they possess, they can go into any game with a good possibility of winning it. That is something we are going to have to guard against. Any team that has got Stuart McKay, Kenny Coull, Barry Somers and the addition of Andy Bagshaw should go into most game with a favourite's tag on their back because there are plenty of goals in there. They may be one of the new kids on the block as a club but these guys certainly aren't and will pose us a threat."

Gary Nicol is the home side's only absentee. That means Neil Robertson is back in contention although he is unlikely to be selected as he continues to build up his match fitness having only just played his first 90 minutes since the 2007 League Cup final by turning out for the under-21s on Monday evening.

Formartine saw their midweek match with Inverurie Locos at North Lodge fall victim to the weather as a heavy pitch led to the eagerly-anticipated derby game being called off. The visitors will look to put that disappointment behind them though as they look to take the three points that will see them draw level with the home side.

Manager John Gardiner has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the match and goes into the game knowing that a victory by two goals or more will see his side leapfrog the Maroons on goal difference.
