Forres captain Neil Whyte "Obviously when someday scores in the last minute your disappointed. I think our general play in the first half probably merited more than the 1-0 at half time. So I suppose it's an old cliché but it was a game of two half's we did not really turn up in the second half. Going on shots on goal and chances created, overall I think everybody was disappointed." When asked about his goal he said, "It was a good moment for me, does not happen often or does not happen as much as it should. To be honest I never really care who scores it's about the team winning, bottom line is we have not." On the league standing and the effect of this result he added, "I think everybody generally should be looking above rather than below, you have too look what is above you and try to do better or match it. I think that is what as a club and as a team we have to do. Obviously the teams above us we have played haven't been miles in front of us. We need some of the breaks maybe, we are still a bit rusty having not played so much in the last while. Hopefully we can still look up and that is where we are looking to be." On Ricky Wardrop he said, "I think if anybody, looking at the last two games, he ( Ricky Wardrop) has probably been unplayable to be fair. The only thing he probably was missing today was actually a goal, which his general play deserved. But he is playing well and bringing lots of the other guys into the game. So, he is definitely on fire at the moment, maybe he just needs that killer instinct he has been missing in the last third, but it will come." Finally a thought on the penalty award, "I did not actually see it at the time because I was picking up somebody at the back post. I think everybody's general reaction was the referee had not given it, the linesman was flagging for a throw-in to us. It is one of those when you see the linesman asking to speak to the referee you are never to sure. He has given it, it was the same as last week. Everybody will say it was not a penalty, from Forres and everybody from Keith will say it was for them."
Keith manager Darren Still On the penalty decision he said, "I was expecting a penalty decision to be honest, I kept my eye on it when the ball was in the air and I think it was big Nathan who came into the back of him. I was expecting the penalty decision and to be fair the Forres management staff did not really contest the decision so they maybe felt the same as well, but that is for them and their squad to look into. "Once I said my piece and said a thing or two to the lads I was delighted with the response in the second half because we were a totally transformed team, I think taking Derek (Nicol) on made a difference, he has missed a lot of football recently, he has just returned from holiday, he was in South Africa for a few weeks. He has not done an awful lot of training compared to the rest of the guys. So to keep him on the pitch today was great." "Cammy(Keith) did well again today him along with the rest of the teams work rate was not acceptable for me in the first half but I will give him his due he had a great response to the half time talk and I was pleased with his second half performance." |
