An inspired second half performance from Keith gave Darren Still his first victory as new manager and saw them claw back from an early Forres goal. In two vastly contrasting forty- five minutes the winner came deep into added time.
The home side made a bright start on a poor playing surface and broke the deadlock with just six minutes on the clock. Keith failed to clear the ball and Ricky Wardrop's lay-off was placed high into the left of goal by skipper Neil Whyte from just inside the box. Forres continued to take the game to their opponents with Ricky Wardrop latching on to Bruce Milne's pass. Keeper Andrew Shearer got a foot to the ball but Wardrop managed to get back on his feet and somehow saw his effort cleared off the line. It looked like one way traffic as Neil Whyte almost found a second with just the keeper to beat. Shearer managed to get to get the slightest block on the ball which sent it looping agonisingly wide of the post. Wardrop had similar luck when he beat the offside trap from a flick-on but pulled his shoot badly wide. Keith failed to create many clear chances, Stuart Walker's curling effort avoiding the top right-hand corner by a few inches, was the closest they came. Half-Time: Forres Mechanics 1 Keith 0 Darren Still introduced Derek Nicol at half time and Keith looked rejuvenated. Front man Cammy Keith had a good chance to level but poorly misjudged his glancing header wide of Ross Harkness' goal. In a keenly contested second period the referee went to his pocket numerous times and Kris Niddrie of Keith could easily have been sent his marching orders. That same man was amongst controversy when Greame Grant took down Niddrie in the penalty area. The referee originally awarded no spot kick put after referring to his linesman Keith had the opportunity to level the scores. However, substitute Derek Nicol horribly sent his penalty over the bar to Forres' relief. Keith continued to battle and they where rewarded in the 75th minute when substitute Dean Donaldson found space to head home a cross from the left wing into the bottom right hand corner of the Forres goal. Cammy Keith was at the heart of everything good for the visitors and twice came close. First, he skipped past a couple of Forres defenders before seeing his shot well tipped over the bar and minutes later he beat the offside trap but Ross Harkness denied him again with a good block. Deep into injury time it looked as though the points would be shared. However, Darren Still would gain his first victory at the hands of the Maroons when Cammy Keith played in Gary Harris. Having only been on the pitch ten minutes he slotted a smart shot past Harkness into the bottom left hand corner in the third minute of stoppage time.
