Eight Huntly doubts / Keith duo suspended Print E-mail
Huntly's fine run of league form that saw them go unbeaten since August was ended with a defeat at Fraserburgh last weekend. Despite that reverse, the Black and Golds still sit at the top of the Highland League table although they face another tough encounter when Keith visit Kynoch Park.

The home side will be desperate to get back to winning ways with the likes of Buckie Thistle, Cove Rangers, Deveronvale and Forres Mechanics all breathing down their necks. Manager Dave McGinlay said:

"I think we shout ourselves in the foot last weekend in that we lost two goals before we had the chance to change our injured ‘keeper. Brems (Ross Bremner) never moved at all for the second goal and that made the task even harder at a time when we were pretty much on top against Fraserburgh.

"This is a game against our local rivals and it certainly won't be easy but it is one we are looking forward to. We lost there at the start of the season but it was a game I thought we would have taken something from had we taken our chances. That has stuck in the back of our minds because we played really well that day and lost a couple of really sloppy goals and it is something that has grated at us since.

"Obviously Reggie (Richard Craig) is coming back with them as well for the first time since we let him go so I am sure he will be looking to do his best."

McGinlay was playing his cards close to his chest with regards to his team news although he did reveal that up to eight players could be out although he would still have a pool of 17 players to pick his match day squad from.

Goalkeeper Ross Bremner went off injured during last weekend's defeat and he is one of those who is a doubt and should he not make it, Gavin Robertson will deputise between the posts.

Keith's game last weekend against Clachnacuddin was called off just an hour before kick off as Kynoch Park was judged to be unplayable by the match referee and this match will be manager Martin Allan's second last in charge with his final encounter coming against Fraserburgh on Boxing Day.

The visitors will be without Derek Nicol and Dean Donaldson as they are both suspended having been red carded at Inverurie Locos a fortnight ago while long term injury victims Neil Robertson, Iain Good and Gary Nicol are all still out.
