Keith and Brora going for glory in U-19s playoff Print E-mail
Kick off: 2.00 pm at MacKessack Park, Rothes

Keith go in search of another Highland Youth League double in this year's playoff with Brora Rangers standing between the Maroon starlets and another piece of silverware.

Keith only won through to Sunday's playoff on Thursday night as they secured the East Section championship. Brora on the other hand, won the North Section at a canter and have been out of action for the last six weeks since rounding off their campaign with a defeat to Clachnacuddin.

The two clubs met in the same final five seasons ago with Keith running out 3-0 winners thanks to a Cammy Keith hat trick. They are looking to complete the double having already defeated Fraserburgh in the final of the Highland League Youth Cup this season. The club's youth coach Lee Watson said:

"Fingers crossed we can retain the title. It was hard work to reach this stage and it has certainly been a long, hard season for us. If we win on Sunday, that will be three trophies coming back here and the second time we have won the league and cup double.

"Craig McGovern is really on fire at the moment and he scored two goals for us in our league win on Thursday. He is one of the players who certainly have a bright future ahead of them if he keeps going the way he is."

The Maroons are hoping to have a full squad for the match. Aaron Morrison missed out on Thursday night due to a slight knock but he is hopeful of being fit to feature in the bit final.
