Still: Goals before half time changed my team talk / Hunter: Up against the best player in the SHFL Print E-mail
An entertaining encounter at Kynoch Park saw Keith begin their Highland League quest with a win as they came from a goal down to defeat Turriff United at Kynoch Park, thanks in part to Cammy Keith's hat trick.

Mark Cowie gave the visitors the lead but goals from Dean Donaldson and Keith in the final seven minutes of the first half turned the game on its head before the interval. Donaldson and Keith both added their second of the game before Gary Harris pulled one back on his return to Kynoch Park.

However, Keith complete his hat trick to restore his side's three-goal lead but Turriff grabbed a further goal back as Euan Clark headed home with virtually the last touch of the game. Both managers spoke to http://www.highlandleague.net/ about how they saw the match.

Darren Still (Keith)
I am stating the obvious here but we were really pleased to win our first game. There is always a wee bit of apprehension when you are going into your first game of the season especially against Turriff who had a few of new players. We were waiting to see what they had and they would have been looking forward to the game as well.

I am delighted with the win but I thought we played within ourselves for quite a bit of the first half. The things that we worked on really well in pre-season we didn't seem to do when it came to the start of the opening game of the season. I think we got a jolt when Turriff scored because that seemed to kick the guys into gear.
